The trauma that nobody talks about

Your nervous system is always sending signals. Exhaustion. Grief. The need to slow down. A boundary that needs to be strengthened. And somewhere along the way, you learned to answer those signals with not now. push through. don't disappoint them.⁣ ⁣ Every time that happens, the body registers it as abandonment.⁣ ⁣ Not in one big dramatic moment. In small ones. Over and over again. Until eventually the body stops expecting to be heard at all and just drops into survival mode.⁣ ⁣ That's what burnout actually is. ⁣ It's what happens when the relationship between you and your own nervous system collapses.⁣ ⁣
