The trauma that nobody talks about
Your nervous system is always sending signals. Exhaustion. Grief. The need to slow down. A boundary that needs to be strengthened. And somewhere along the way, you learned to answer those signals with not now. push through. don't disappoint them. Every time that happens, the body registers it as abandonment. Not in one big dramatic moment. In small ones. Over and over again. Until eventually the body stops expecting to be heard at all and just drops into survival mode. That's what burnout actually is. It's what happens when the relationship between you and your own nervous system collapses.
